I guess Obama was right. John McCain just told us so himself. So what is the argument for electing McCain to be our President? When you vote for President, you are also voting for their party to assume the Presidency. It will largely be his fellow Republicans who will be his advisors, be members of his cabinet and staff his agencies. The same Republicans who John McCain tells us have failed during the past eight years.
When you combine that with the fact that he is simply on the wrong side of so many issues: Iraq, abortion rights, civil liberties, education, the environment and health care to name a few [none of which received any substantive treatment in his speech] then it quickly becomes apparent that any effort to articulate a reason to make him our President rings hollow. And that is before we consider his running mate who is not only not qualified for the position, but is being revealed daily to be a right wing extremist.
I respect and honor the sacrifices John McCain has made for our country, but "Country First," demands that I look deeper than his heroism and question whether this is a man, who at this time in history, will make the world a better, safer, cleaner place for my boys. He isn't.
